Create Interface Policies

Define automated interface configuration policies for consistent external connectivity.

Policy-Based Configuration

Create interface policies that define standard configuration parameters for external connectivity links, ensuring consistency and reducing manual configuration errors across your external fabric.

Automated Deployment

Interface policies enable automated, repeatable configuration deployment to external links, making it easier to scale external connectivity while maintaining compliance with design standards.

Step 1 - Navigate to Policies and Launch Create Policy Wizard

Navigate to Configuration Policies to launch the Create Policies wizard and being creating your BGP network statement policy:

  1. Click the Configuration Policies tab in the top navigation bar
  2. Click the Policies
  3. Click Actions
  4. Click Add Policy

Step 2 - Select BGP VRF Network Statement Template

In the Create Policy Policy.

  1. Click on No Policy Selected

The Select Policy Template should come up. Search for the correct BGP policy template that provides the configuration for creating a BGP network statement in a VRF instance:

  1. In the search field, search bgp_vrf_network
  2. Click bgp_vrf_network
  3. Click Select

Step 3 - Configure BGP VRF Network Statement Policy

With the correct BGP policy selected to create a network statement in a VRF instance, you must provide configuration parameters that match your deployed external router:

  1. Set the BGP AS # to 65333 to match the existing ASN already configured on your Ext-Rtr
  2. Set the VRF Name to BlueVRF to match the existing VRF already configured on your Ext-Rtr and in your Site1 VXLAN EVPN fabric
  3. Set the IP prefix to advertise to 172.16.1.1/32 to match the Loopback interface you created in the previous section
  4. Click Save

Step 4 - Confirm BGP Policy Created

Back at the main Policies overview, locate the policy you created to confirm it is in the list:

  1. In the filter box type Template == bgp_vrf_network
  2. Confirm the policy you created is present
